My 16-month boy talking over the phone

This photo was taken by my sister-in-law with her handphone and this is definately one of the best. I really like this photo a lot as my 16-month boy looks so natural and lively. It is also not easy to take this kind of photo in the car while it's still moving. Many thanks to Siew Nee.

My son's wheezing is back

From last nite till this morning, my son could not sleep due to very bad cough and wheezing. This morning, he was also vomittig several times which most probably due to phlegm. He started to be very week and had no appetite to eat. We afraid that he might need to be hospitalised again because we can hear his wheezing from a distance. But, we took him to child clinic first, to let the doctor to decide whether need to hospitalise him. In the clinic, my boy was given nebulizer, followed by medication. Doctor had also confirmed that my son is an asthmatic and need to use Seretide Evohaler regularly to prevent him from asthma attacks. Fortunately, my boy's health condition got so much better in the afternoon and his wheezing sound is also reducing. He started to be active again and his appetite is back.

My boy starts crawling

There is an old saying that if the parents never crawled then their babies most likely will not crawl too. So all these while, we did not really put efforts to let him crawl. I expect him to walk without crawling first, just like his father and mother. Today, I am so surprise to find out that my boy suddenly starts to show interest in crawling. My boy is turning 14 months soon.

My son has Roseola

My boy has been developing a fever and has mild diarrhea for 2 days already. But, he does not appear to be sick and in fact, he is still very active. Because of his body temperature was still high, I decided to take him to see his doctor. The doctor said that my son most likely has Roseola (also known as "Baby Measles"). According to doctor, Roseola is generally a harmless viral infection and is quite common among children 6 months to 2 years of age. Roseola usually starts with a sudden high fever that lasts 3 days and followed by a rash over the body once the fever breaks. Bascially, there's no specific treatment for the illness and the fever and rash will go away by itself. After hearing all these.....now I can breathe a sigh of relief!

Wesak Day Celebration in Malacca

Wesak Day is one of the holiest days for Buddhists across the world, an opportunity for all followers to come together and celebrate not only the Buddha's birthday, but also his enlightenment and achievement of Nirvana.

On Wesak eve, we were invited by my cousin-in-law to participate in one of the wesak activities in Melaka where animals are set free. We have released the gold fishes and tortoises to the Durian Tunggal Reservoir. My boy is so fortunate that he able to join such a meaningful activity at the age of one. In fact, this is also our first time joining this kind of event.

On Wesak Day, we were doing some form of praying in a temple at Melaka Baru. There was also a interesting session where we needed to bath the little Buddha statue to commemorate his birth.

Besides praying, we have also never forget to give donation for the victims of the recent natural disasters in Sichuan, China.

This is the best ever Wesak Day for my family. On this special day, I would like to take this opportunity to with all the Buddhists "A Happy Wesak Day" with many happy returns and loving-kindness!

Happy Mother's Day

A Very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all mummy and of course it includes my beloved wife who has given birth to my gifted and talented boy. For mother's day celebration, I took my family members out for dinner in a restaurant at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara. On commenting about the food in the restaurant, there was nothing to shout about and the food was simply not worth the value. Quite dissapointing for us to choose that place for mother's day celebration. Luckily, I got my boy to cheer us up quite a fair bit.

To show the love and appreciation for his mum on mother's day, my 1-year-old boy held his mum's hand and performed the 'sealed with a kiss'.

Besides that, we also enjoyed seeing how my boy behaved and reacted when comes to eating with mummy.

I got my new Vios at last

After waited for more than a month since 9 March, I have finally collected my new Vios from Distinctive Model Service Centre at Sungai Buloh yesterday. I have also traded my old Kia Spectra at the same day with TopMark, a UMW Toyota's approved used car division. Prior to collecting our car, we were having a short service feedback session with Mr Kwan, managing director of Distinctive Model Sdn Bhd in his office. After the session, we were given a free complimentary car service for the first 1000km. My wife and I also had a photo session with our sales advisor in the service centre.

My baby stand up on his own

There is another breakthrough for Iverson today. He knows how to stand up by his own without any help from us. This shows that his legs are strong enough to learn how to walk.

My baby got his very 1st tooth

While I was still in the office, I suddenly received a call from my auntie and she excitedly informed me that my baby first tooth starts to come out. This got me very excited as we have been long waiting for this to happen. He just turned 11 month last week.

When I reached home, I immediately opened his mouth trying to figure out where is his first tooth but I could not see it with my eyes clearly. So I tried to touch his gum with my last finger and i could feel something sharp at the front bottom of his gum. The next thing I am looking forward is able to see his first complete tooth by 25 April 2008 - his 1st birthday.

Go for new 3rd Generation Toyota Vios 1.5G

Initially, i would like to get a second hand Toyota Vios (2nd generation). But after much consideration, I finally go for new 3rd generation Toyota Vios 1.5G due to lower interest rate (2.39%) and much more spacious. The passenger cabin is 120mm more spacious and the storage area in the back is 19% more spacious then the predecessor.

Iverson had diarrhoea for 3 days

Iverson had diarrhoea for 3 days and we worried that the diarrhoea would cause dehydration. We send him to Dr Foo yesterday evening for checkup and the doctor confirmed that Iverson was not dehydrated. We did ask the Dr Foo about any approach to stop the diarrhoea and doctor replied us that he is not going to use medicines to stop diarrhoea in young children. But, he recommended us to use the lactose-free formula milk at this period of time to help Iverson recover fully from diarrhoea before switching back to his usually formula milk. Iverson was also given the probiotic to treat and prevent diarrhoea.

What is probiotic? Probiotics are live microorganisms (in most cases, bacteria) that are similar to beneficial microorganisms found in the human gut. They are also called "friendly bacteria" or "good bacteria." Probiotics are available in foods and dietary supplements (for example, capsules, tablets, and powders) and in some other forms as well. Examples of foods containing probiotics are yogurt, fermented and unfermented milk, miso, tempeh, and some juices and soy beverages.

Dr Foo has also confirmed that Iverson has recoverred fully from acute bronchiolitis as the wheezing sound has gone. Congrats Iverson!

Iverson was discharged from hospital

Due to his unbelievable persistence and perseverance in undergoing the nebulizer treatment in the last 2 days, Iverson health condition has improved a lot and doctor allowed him to be discharged from hospital today. According to Dr Soh, there are still phlegm and wheezing sound because the lung airways still resistant and refuse to open up. Dr Soh suggested the use of an metered dose inhaler with 'AeroChamber' (see picture below) at home and needs follow up with the doctor in a week time.
