"The Promise", Sing For Sichuan

This song, titled "The Promise", was recorded for earthquake-devastated Sichuan province by more than a hundred performing artists from Beijing, Hong Kong and Taipei. The lyrics was written by Andy Law, with the melody for "Unrestrained Sea and Far-ranging Sky", originally sung by Beyond, a HK Band in mid 1990s. The lyrics is so well written and it is so touching. I believe the fans of Beyond's late lead singer, Wong Ka-Kui would be very happy to hear his song (although lyrics had been altered) being played to ease the victims in China earthquake.

(We are the world)
為了你我再苦也不躲 (We are the world)
我要你重獲 原來的生活
認定了這一輩子的承諾

縱然山搖地破 也要安然渡過 有你有我

我要你重獲 原來的生活
認定了這一輩子的承諾

A Great Mum in Recent China Earthquake

There is a touching story of a great mother in recent China's earthquake. Days after the earthquake, rescuers found a dead woman kneeling on both knees, her entire upper body bent forward, held up by her two hands pressed against the ground, as if performing the ceremonial bow in an ancient ritual. Except, her body had been compressed out of shape and looked somewhat eerie. Then, the rescuers checked out on her and found her underneath was a 3 to 4-month old infant, wrapped with a blanket, sleeping peacefully. They later discovered a cell phone in the blanket with an unsend message - "My Dear baby, if you are able to stay alive, you must remember that I love you." Everyone who read this message touched their heart and wept including myself.

Wesak Day Celebration in Malacca

Wesak Day is one of the holiest days for Buddhists across the world, an opportunity for all followers to come together and celebrate not only the Buddha's birthday, but also his enlightenment and achievement of Nirvana.

On Wesak eve, we were invited by my cousin-in-law to participate in one of the wesak activities in Melaka where animals are set free. We have released the gold fishes and tortoises to the Durian Tunggal Reservoir. My boy is so fortunate that he able to join such a meaningful activity at the age of one. In fact, this is also our first time joining this kind of event.

On Wesak Day, we were doing some form of praying in a temple at Melaka Baru. There was also a interesting session where we needed to bath the little Buddha statue to commemorate his birth.

Besides praying, we have also never forget to give donation for the victims of the recent natural disasters in Sichuan, China.

This is the best ever Wesak Day for my family. On this special day, I would like to take this opportunity to with all the Buddhists "A Happy Wesak Day" with many happy returns and loving-kindness!

Happy Mother's Day

A Very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all mummy and of course it includes my beloved wife who has given birth to my gifted and talented boy. For mother's day celebration, I took my family members out for dinner in a restaurant at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara. On commenting about the food in the restaurant, there was nothing to shout about and the food was simply not worth the value. Quite dissapointing for us to choose that place for mother's day celebration. Luckily, I got my boy to cheer us up quite a fair bit.

To show the love and appreciation for his mum on mother's day, my 1-year-old boy held his mum's hand and performed the 'sealed with a kiss'.

Besides that, we also enjoyed seeing how my boy behaved and reacted when comes to eating with mummy.

Tun Dr Mahathir also a blogger now

Before the 12th general election on 8th March 2008, Malaysian government warned its citizens not to listen to bloggers and even called them as liars. But after the political tsunami, with Barisan National (BN) suffering its biggest setback in history, bloggers such as Jeff Ooi and Tony Phua from Democratic Action Party (DAP) have become heroes. The value of bloggers have also gone up more than hundred times. The perception towards bloggers as liars has also changed. Many including BN politicians such as Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and Mohd Ali Rustam have began to realise that blogging is the best way to reach out to people in this information age and started to jump onto bloggers bandwagon. What more interesting is that Tun Dr Mahathir, former Prime Minister of Malaysia has also joined fellow bloggers in cyberspace at http://www.chedet.com to publish his thoughts and comments. His blog which published in english has received overwhelming response.

My boy swinging in the playground

After our dinner at about 7pm, we brought Iverson to the playground to play the swing. He could swing very well and showed no sign of any fears.
