Iverson had diarrhoea for 3 days

Iverson had diarrhoea for 3 days and we worried that the diarrhoea would cause dehydration. We send him to Dr Foo yesterday evening for checkup and the doctor confirmed that Iverson was not dehydrated. We did ask the Dr Foo about any approach to stop the diarrhoea and doctor replied us that he is not going to use medicines to stop diarrhoea in young children. But, he recommended us to use the lactose-free formula milk at this period of time to help Iverson recover fully from diarrhoea before switching back to his usually formula milk. Iverson was also given the probiotic to treat and prevent diarrhoea.

What is probiotic? Probiotics are live microorganisms (in most cases, bacteria) that are similar to beneficial microorganisms found in the human gut. They are also called "friendly bacteria" or "good bacteria." Probiotics are available in foods and dietary supplements (for example, capsules, tablets, and powders) and in some other forms as well. Examples of foods containing probiotics are yogurt, fermented and unfermented milk, miso, tempeh, and some juices and soy beverages.

Dr Foo has also confirmed that Iverson has recoverred fully from acute bronchiolitis as the wheezing sound has gone. Congrats Iverson!

NiuZeXui in Ara Damansara

One of my colleagues asked me whether I have been to 牛车水? At first, I thought he was referring to a place in Singapore and replied to him, "Of course! This is Singapore Chinatown mah. In fact, I was staying near Singapore Chinatown when i was working in Singapore few years ago." Then he said, "No-lar, I am asking about the 牛车水 in Damansara area?" This make me very curious and wanted to know how to get there?

Thru the map and video clip (thanks to saimatkong) below, i know how to get there already. I will definately bring my family to this new place one of these days. :)

Iverson was discharged from hospital

Due to his unbelievable persistence and perseverance in undergoing the nebulizer treatment in the last 2 days, Iverson health condition has improved a lot and doctor allowed him to be discharged from hospital today. According to Dr Soh, there are still phlegm and wheezing sound because the lung airways still resistant and refuse to open up. Dr Soh suggested the use of an metered dose inhaler with 'AeroChamber' (see picture below) at home and needs follow up with the doctor in a week time.

Valentine Day but Iverson was admitted

Iverson had a high fever and bad cough since sunday nite. He has been seeing Dr Foo and Hon in the daily basis for nebulizer in the morning and evening to clear the phlegm and wheezing sound. However, after 4 days, his condition still not getting any better and the wheezing sound is getting obvious. According to Dr Hon, Iverson is suffering from Acute Bronchiolitis and need to be admitted to hospital.

What is Bronchiolitis? Bronchiolitis is an infection of the small airways of the lung (the bronchioles). It is a common condition of babies. Most affected babies are not seriously ill, and make a full recovery. Sometimes it becomes more serious and hospital care may be needed.

Immediately, we sent him to Damansara Specialist Hospital which is near our home and also my company hospital panel. According to Dr Soh Lay Sian, Iverson has to be treated with nebulizer every hour, followed by every 3 hours and then by every 4 hours. Frankly speaking, it is not easy for a 9-month old baby to go through all this. However, his willingness to go through the nebulizer treatments has proved to us once again that he is really a tough baby.

Today is a Valentine day but we don't celebrate this year. Our mind is on our beloved son, Iverson. Nothing is more important than Iverson now. We want him to recover as soon as possible.

I just came back from my hometown, Malacca today, arriving Kota Damansara around 11:30am.

This year, my wife and I are having a very special Chinese New Year as compared to the previous years. This time we have a cute 9-month old baby, Iverson with us. In fact, this is also our first time bringing Iverson to visit my parents, grandparents, relatives and friends in Malacca. He really have a good time there and has been well received by my realatives and friends.
